8-11 year old Elementary-age Class:
Molecular Mavericks

This class will focus on the concepts of chemistry as they learn about the periodic table, funny stories related to scientists and the discovery of different elements, and valuable information about the structure of atoms and molecules. Through many hands-on experiments, these 'Lab Rats' will explore, think creatively, and wonder, about how and why different reactions occur. They'll be making lots of messes, creating different experiments, cooking or baking a variety of foods, and having fun individually, and in groups, as they explore the science of chemistry. Students will also learn current applications to chemistry, different areas of study within chemistry, and hopefully be fueled with a sense of curiosity and wonder of the chemistry world.
